Objectives

OBJECTIVES

  • To serve as the umbrella organization of all human resources professional bodies/institutions in Bangladesh;
  • To improve the quality and effectiveness of professional human resources management in the country;
  • To encourage and support human resource professionals in creating and developing their own associations in the country;
  • To provide guidance and assistance to all member associations especially with regards to their programs that will uplift the human resources management profession.
  • MAJOR FUNCTIONS

    To achieve its objectives, the Federation will carry out the following functions:

  • Provide leadership of HR professionals of the country and represent at the national and international level/forums.
  • Work with GOB to promote best HR practices in Bangladesh and establishment of HR ministry in Bangladesh.
  • Promote HR education in different universities, institutes and colleges.
  • Organize round table, seminar and workshop on HR related issues.
  • Encourage mutual assistance between member associations in answering various inquiries from a association on behalf of itself or its members.
  • Provide general assistance to associations of human resources management if so requested, provided that no financial commitment is involved.
  • Assist in arranging self-financing international and national study trips.
  • Organize self-financing international conferences.
  • Carry out common surveys and statistical comparisons.
  • Encourage exchange of research reports by member associations.
  • Promote the voluntary exchange of professional publications (such as journals, periodicals, bibliographies, etc
  • Represent the HR organizations in the Government, national and international forums;
  • Provide intellectual support at the national and international levels;
  • Assist a member association with the arrangement of seminars and conferences, involving help in finding speakers, publicity, etc.
  • Assist the exchange of experiences about current functional or professional situations of human resources management.
  • Attempt to establish common positions (vis-a-vis ILO, etc.) on matters that concern the function or profession of human resources management.
  • Encourage the establishment of professional qualifications and training programs for human resources management by member associations.
  • Encourage the development of a Code of Ethics.
  • Facilitate resolving any conflicts among the member organizations.
  • Encourage common publications between member associations.
  • Encourage the exchange of information on training concepts, methods or materials between member associations.
  • Encourage agreements between member associations to sell each other’s publications at reduced prices.
  • Encourage the establishment of HR accreditation for the HR profession.
  • Encourage the establishment of web-based site/portal/hub that will enhance the linkages among HR associations and the professional development of the HR professions in line with the Federation’s values
